ÇANKAYA MUNICIPALITY SENT 156 HUMANITARIAN AID VEHICLES TO THE PROVINCES DAMAGED BY THE EARTHQUAKE IN FIVE DAYS

A total of 156 humanitarian aid vehicles, including 68 trucks, 34 freight trucks, 46 pickup trucks, 4 minibuses, 3 passenger cars, and 1 funeral transport, were sent to the earthquake provinces.

From February 6, when the earthquake occurred, to February 10, Çankaya Municipality sent a total of 156 humanitarian aid vehicles to the provinces damaged by the earthquake with the help of volunteers, including 68 trucks, 34 freight trucks, 46 pickup trucks, 4 minibuses, 3 passenger cars, and 1 funeral transport vehicle.

Efforts are being made to heal the wounds of the earthquake, the center of which is Kahramanmaraş Pazarcık on February 6, 2023, at 04:17 and which struck Kilis, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Malatya and Hatay along with Maraş.

Çankaya Municipality took action from the first day of the earthquake and turned the Ahmet Taner Kışlalı Sports Hall into a fundraising center for people who experienced the disaster in the earthquake provinces.

A great example of solidarity was displayed with the volunteering of the citizens as well as the municipal teams.

A total of 156 humanitarian aid vehicles, including 68 trucks, 34 freight trucks, 46 pickup trucks, 4 minibuses, 3 passenger cars and 1 funeral transport vehicle, were sent to the provinces damaged by the earthquake between February 6 and February 10. Humanitarian aid was distributed to people in need under the organization of AFAD.

The 5-day humanitarian aid balance sheet was as follows:

February 6, 2023: We sent our first aid truck and construction equipment, trucks and vans to serve in earthquake zones.

February 7, 2023: We sent 14 trucks, 9 freight trucks, 26 pickup trucks.

February 8, 2023: We sent 38 trucks, 16 freight trucks, 12 pickup trucks, and 1 minibus transporter.

February 9, 2023: We sent off our aid team of 30 people to Hatay. We sent 11 trucks, 4 freight trucks, 7 pickup trucks, 1 minibus transporter, and 2 passenger cars.

February 10, 2023: We sent 4 trucks, 5 freight trucks, 1 pickup truck, 2 minibuses, 1 funeral transport vehicle, and 1 more passenger car. The total number of vehicles we sent to earthquake provinces reached 156.

AID CENTER FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS COMING TO ANKARA

We transported our citizens, who reached Kırıkkale from the earthquake zones by train or road, to Ankara.

The aid vehicles that went to the earthquake provinces helped the earthquake victims who wanted to come to Ankara and brought them to the Capital. For the needs of the earthquake victims who came to the capital, Çankaya Municipality established a help center at the Maltepe Campus, located at Şehit Gönenç Caddesi No 16. Earthquake survivors will be able to obtain basic materials that they may need in the first place. The construction equipment of the municipality, which was sent to the earthquake provinces, participated in the debris removal works. The municipality's aid team of 30 also participated in the rescue of survivors in the organization of AFAD.

 

ÇANKAYA MUNICIPALITY CONTINUES TO COLLECT AID

Aid continues to be collected in the logistics centers established in Ahmet Taner Kışlalı Sports Hall located on Balgat Türkocağı Cad. and Ümitköy Service Building  located on Ümit Mah. Doğan Taşdelen Blv. No:44. Underwear, towels, shampoo, bed linen, blankets, and thick tracksuits for women, men, teenagers, children and babies are among the priority needs for earthquake survivors coming to Ankara.
