MINIMUM WORKER'S SALARY INCREASED TO 14 THOUSAND 375 TL

 

BASE WAGES INCREASED AT A RECORD LEVEL BETWEEN 134 PERCENT AND 147 PERCENT

A historical collective bargaining agreement was signed between Çankaya Municipality subsidiary ÇANPAŞ and DİSK Genel İş Çankaya Branch No. 1, in which 1958 ÇANPAŞ employees were organized. Accordingly, the lowest employee salary was increased to 14 thousand 375 liras, including the road and food. Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen said at the signing ceremony, “This is a historical collective bargaining agreement. It is also a record for Turkey. We have increased between 134 percent and 147 percent. There will no longer be a distinction between municipal companies İMAR, BELDE and ÇANPAŞ. There will be equal pay for equal work. I am a worker friend, a worker's son, a worker's grandson. May it be halal like your mother's white milk.

 

The signing ceremony of the collective bargaining agreement covering Çankaya Municipality and ÇANPAŞ employees was held at the İmrahor District Cleaning Works Site. Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, Genel İş President Remzi Çalışkan, DİSK Genel İş Çankaya No. 1 Branch President İsmail Yıldırım, Çankaya Municipality Council Deputy Chairman Özgür Erdem İncesu as well as CHP Deputy Chairman Veli Ağbaba, CHP Çankaya District President Fahri Yıldırım, Çankaya Municipality Council members and ÇANPAŞ workers attended.

 

WE ARE LIVING A HISTORIC DAY TODAY

 

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who started his speech with the words "You are my dear, you are my comrade, you are my liver, you will know it this way", wished God's mercy on Bülent Gülay, an employee of the Park and Gardens Directorate, who passed away at a young age. Mr Taşdelen said, “Today, we are living a historic day on behalf of ÇANPAŞ workers, Çankaya Municipality and also all my workers who pass through the subcontractor in Turkey. The employment contract we signed as Çankaya Municipality today is a historical collective labor contract.

 

WHEN I LOOK AT YOU, I SEE MY WORKER GRANDFATHER

 

Reminding that the late Çankaya former Mayor Doğan Taşdelen was a pioneer in collective bargaining agreements, Alper Taşdelen said, “As his son, I am not only your mayor, but your friend and comrade. My deceased grandfather Hüseyin was a central heating worker. I am also the granddaughter of a heating worker. As a mayor, when I look at all my fellow workers, I see my grandfather.”

 

THE İMAR, BELDE, ÇANPAŞ DISTINCTION WILL NO LONGER EXIST

Stating that they wrote an epic with the collective bargaining agreement they signed, Mr. Taşdelen said:

 

“With this collective agreement, we have made ÇANPAŞ workers equal to those of Reconstruction and Town employees. Equal pay for equal work. İmar, Belde, ÇANPAŞ distinction will no longer exist. This contract is also a record for Turkey. We achieved an increase in our base wages between 134 percent and 147 percent. We increased our bonuses from 15+15 to 30+30. We gave 40 hours to our brothers in private security. We did the Saturday on the weekend. With the collective bargaining agreement we made, the lowest net salary, including travel and food, was 14,375 liras. This is a record. I am honored to have my signature under it. Because you are my comrade, my dear. It is my honor that you receive the highest salary. I am worker friendly. I am the son of a worker. I am the granddaughter of a worker. May it be as halal as your mother's white milk. Long live DİSK, long live General-İş, long live freedom, democracy, and republic, long live the enlightenment of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.”

 

Genel İş President Remzi Çalışkan and DİSK Genel İş Çankaya No. 1 Branch Head İsmail Yıldırım also thanked Taşdelen. After the speeches, Mr. Taşdelen and Mr. Çalışkan signed the collective bargaining agreement.
