3 MORE PARKS FROM ÇANKAYA - MESSAGE AT THE OPENING OF THE UKRAINE PARK: “NO TO WAR, YES TO PEACE”

Alper Taşdelen: “When we open this park today, we say that there should be no wars, people should not die, and we underline that we defend peace until the end. We are giving this park as a gift by saying no to war and yes to peace.”

 

Çankaya Municipality opened 3 new parks that the municipality has completed recently. Çankaya Municipality, which named one of its new parks "Ukraine Park", has undertaken an important work in the name of peace and friendship.

 

The construction and renovation works of 3 new parks have been completed by Çankaya Municipality and put into service for the public. Çankaya Municipality, which gave the name "Ukraine" to one of the parks, opened the 27 Aralık Kızılca Gün Park and the completely renovated Alacaatlı Vatan Picnic Area with a ceremony held in the Ukraine Park.

 

The opening ceremony, hosted by Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, was attended by the Deputy Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Alexei Chernyshev, CHP Çankaya District President Fahri Yıldırım, Başkent Natural Gas Distribution Company General Manager Asım Yüksel, mukhtars and citizens of both countries.

 

MR. CHERNYSHEV: “I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE TURKISH PEOPLE AND ÇANKAYA MUNICIPALITY VERY MUCH”

 

Before the opening, the Deputy Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Alexei Chernyshev  said in his speech that; “It is a great honor for me to be here with you, I would like to thank the Turkish people and Çankaya Municipality very much for opening this park at such a time when Ukraine is at war. This park is a park that shows the friendship between our peoples and the opening of such a park in the heart of Ankara indicates that our relations are improving. We hope that this park will host joint events of Ukraine and Turkey.”

 

ALPER TAŞDELEN: “THERE SHOULD BE NO WARS, NO PEOPLE SHOULD DIE”

 

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who stated that he has opened 95 parks since the day he took office, said, "We are now happy to open 3 parks in different neighborhoods with a ceremony." Mr. Taşdelen, who gave information about the parks that were opened said; “We actually took the decision to name this park Ukraine three and a half years ago from our city council. At that time Russia had not invaded Ukraine and this war did not exist. Today, it has become more meaningful to open this park. Because Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state. When we open this park today, we say that there should be no wars, that people should not die, and we underline that we defend peace until the end and that the unitary structure and independence of every sovereign state should be respected. We are presenting this park by saying no to war and yes to peace.”

 

1 OPENING 3 PARKS

 

After the opening speeches, three parks were opened with a ceremony held in Ukraine Park. The Ukraine Park, which has an area of ​​8,230 square meters, built in the Kızılırmak Neighbourhood, has brought 5,450 square meters of green space to the region. In addition to the 27 Aralık Kızılca Gün Park, built on a total area of ​​7,016 square meters in Alacaatlı Neighbourhood, the 31-decare Alacaatlı Vatan Picnic Area will serve with barbecues, arbours, 121 covered picnic tables, 50 barbecue places, 46 mobile picnic tables, a 700-meter walking track, a bicycle track and 2 children's playgrounds.
