Çankaya Municipality, Turkey's first "Purple Flag" owner local government with its work on gender equality, brings women writers together with their readers. “6. Women Writers Week” starts on October 3.

 

Çankaya Municipality, Turkey's first "Purple Flag" owner local government with its work on gender equality, brings women writers together with their readers. Organized for the 6th time this year, the Women Writers Week will be held between 3-7 October. In the event to be held at Doğan Taşdelen Contemporary Arts Center, where Ayten Kaya Görgün, Banu Bülbül, Aslı Alpar, Gülhan Avşar and Senem Timuroğlu will take place with their works and interviews.

 

WE FIGHT FOR GENDER EQUALITY

 

Noting that they make positive discrimination in service to women in every field so that women can benefit from the economic and social life equally and increase their presence in the arts, Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen said, “We are in cooperation with non-governmental organizations and universities for works that will make a difference in our municipality and district. We are fighting for gender equality," he said. Touching on the importance of the book and the women being together, Mr. Taşdelen said, “We are a society that needs to learn the power of women and the power of the book. That's why women writers are valuable to us," he said.
