The 90th Language Day event, organized by the Language Association with the support of Çankaya Municipality, was held at Doğan Taşdelen Contemporary Arts Center. Hosted by Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, the event was attended by the President of the Language Association, Sevgi Özel, master of

literature, Ataol Behramoğlu, as well as writers, literature people and many citizens.

ALPER TAŞDELEN: “WE WILL CONTINUE TO WALK ON THE PATH OF SCIENCE AND MIND”

After Sevgi Özel, who talked about the importance of the Alphabet Revolution made by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the 90-year period of the Language Day, Çankaya Mayor Taşdelen, who came to the podium and made his speech, said: “If the language of a society is not free, that nation cannot be free. Of course, one of the people who knew this best was Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the Alphabet Revolution he made in 1928 and the Language Revolution he brought after it is one of the biggest breakthroughs of Atatürk's enlightenment. Dealing with Atatürkism and trying to wear down Atatürk's revolutions is a futile effort. Because Atatürk left a legacy of reason and science, and showed the contemporary civilization as a target. We will continue to walk on the path of science and reason. We will always carry the goal of catching and surpassing the ever-developing contemporary civilization.” Mr. Taşdelen concluded her speech by congratulating the award winners.
