The free dinner practice of Çankaya Municipality continues for university students, which set an example for the whole of Turkey. 35 thousand 600 students benefited from the practice, which started on November 24, in 7 weeks. At the Çankaya Municipality cafeteria, which welcomes approximately 1,300 students a day, university students can have their dinner in the central building located in Kızılay by showing their student ID only.

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who said that Çankaya Municipality is the home of young people, said, “We are going through difficult economic conditions. We wanted to be with our university students and opened the cafeteria of our municipality to university students. We didn't want anyone to think 'what am I going to eat for dinner'. We wanted him to come every weekday evening, to be our guest in his municipality, at his house, and to share our table. With this service, we set an example for the whole country. Our free dinner will continue throughout the academic year.”

ÇANKAYA IS WITH YOU IN COLD WINTWER DAYS

Expressing that as CHP municipality, they stand by everyone also in need in cold winter days, Mayor Alper Taşdelen said, “We are with the oppressed and the victims. In these harsh economic conditions, we will always continue to stand by our citizens with fixed income, our citizens who live on minimum wage, and our citizens who live on the border of hunger. Opening our table to our university students was one of them. Because our university students are the guarantee of our bright future. We never want them to despair. We want them to know that Çankaya is always with them.”
