Çankaya Municipality, aiming to meet the needs of the people and families who need social and economic assistance residing within the borders of the district, realized the third stage of Social Card practice.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony of the Social Card, the majority of which was attended by women and attended by hundreds of citizens, Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen said that, ‘’The municipality of course paves the asphalt, cleans the streets, and opens the service areas. However, the municipality has also an obligation to touch to human beings. In this sense, amongst Çankaya Municipality services that I care about the most and the project makes me happy Social Card.

Mr. Taşdelen talked at the ceremony at the Çankaya Municipality Vedat Dalokay Cocktail Hall that the number of 203 families that distributed the Social Card reported that the number of families has reached to 557 now. Mr. Taşdelen announced that 400 TL will be deposited to the cards every 2 months and said that ‘’Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said that the Republic is the helper of the helpless people’’, this means that everyone has the right to benefit from the country's income and wealth. We are acting as a social democratic municipality with this principle. This is the basis of our political opinion’’.

SOCIAL CARD IS GIVEN TO WOMEN AS BEING THE HEAD OF THE FAMILIES

Stating that Çankaya Social Cards are given to women as being the head of the families, Mr. Taşdelen emphasized that they have carried out a rigorous work to reach the real needy families, and the difference of Social Card other aid projects that is this practice do not hurt anyone. Mr. Taşdelen also stated that the cash loading to bank card is planned to be used by every person in need in every area they want, also said that the Social Card is entrusted to women in particular. Alper Tasdelen emphasized that the real head of the families are women, and said that: "We are giving the People's Card especially women, women need to be strong. Thus we want to strengthen the position of women in society in this way".

A citizen speaking on behalf of those who are entitled to take the Social Card said that: ‘’I would like to thank Alper Taşdelen who accepts us as one of them without judging, who stands beside women who raise children alone’’.
