The Cultural Center that Çankaya Municipality named after Zülfü Livaneli, one of Turkey‘s outstanding artists has become a haunt of art-lovers and intellectuals since its inauguration. The Center hosting prominent exhibitions, conferences and meetings with its modern structure and useful interior architecture and with Nazım Hikmet and Zülfü Livaneli monuments has been in the limelight of Çankaya-dwellers.  

The Cultural Center that Çankaya Municipality named after Zülfü Livaneli, one of Turkey‘s outstanding artists has become a haunt of art-lovers and intellectuals since its inauguration. The Center hosting prominent exhibitions, conferences and meetings with its modern structure and useful interior architecture has entertained 25,000 people from its inauguration to the present.

Inaugurated with the CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Zülfü Livaneli, the Center has brought together many painters, poets, writers, directors and intellectuals with their fans. In Zülfü Livaneli Cultural Center that was inaugurated just 9 months ago 16 conferences, debates and panel discussions, 12 film screenings, 9 concerts and 14 exhibitions have been held till today. 

As to the second gesture for Zülfü Livaneli made by Çankaya Mayor Mr. Alper Taşdelen, who names each investment in Çankaya after an outstanding personality of Turkey, is his  monument in front of the Center.  For it is the joint monument of Nazım Hikmet and Zülfü Livaneli, Taşdelen said that “ We feel honoured to keep alive two outstanding figures who flow in the same river, sit at the table of the same sun, write and sing the longing and hope of this territory”. Nazım Hikmet and Zülfü Livaneli do not only belong to this country but also whole humanity”.

The Center located in Yıldız, one of the significant quarters of Çankaya is made up of three floors. Rooms of the Center being named after the great artist are also named after his literary works. “Saloon Serenad” and as exhibition room “Mutluluk Exhibition Saloon” are located at the ground floor; alt katta Music, Literacy, Cinema and Dance Workshops are located downstairs as “Leyla’s House Conference Saloon” for 120 located upstairs.
