CERTIFIED CLEANING WORKERS ON ÇANKAYA STREETS

Çankaya Municipality Cleaning Workers became certified after their training including topics such as solid waste, hygiene, work safety and worker’s health safety. Certified workers say that their garbage approach is much more conscious now.

Çankaya Municipality Cleaning Workers had Ministry of Education approved certificate. A thousand employees who carry out the cleaning and garbage collection services have become more equipped with the training they have received in groups of 20-30 persons, such as collection of waste, environmental clean-up, urban layout, environmental effects of waste groups.

Within the protocol signed with Mamak District Directorate of National Education and Karaağaç Public Education Center, hygiene issues as well as occupational safety and health of workers were discussed in the training program.

Trainees completing their training have stated that their garbage approaches have become much more conscious and they are happy to have mastered on many issues related to their profession, such as how solid waste is handled, how medical waste is carried, and how the garbage truck compaction unit is used.

 

“THEY PASSED TWO WRITTEN AND TWO PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS”

 

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen stated that cleaning workers received an important training for both environmental health and their own health and said  “My colleagues who took a total of 80 hours of training including 48 hours of theoretical and 32 hours of practical and  took their certificates by passing two written and two practical exams."

Taşdelen said "Cleaning workers who took classes on classification of solid waste, transport, recycling, disposal, also informed about occupational diseases and occupational safety legislation.”
