TRAINING AGAINST PEER BULLYING WAS GIVEN BY ÇANKAYA MUNICIPALITY

Çankaya Municipality gave 300 students training at Nesibe Aydın Schools on "Peer Bullying and Violence". During the training in which the students showed an intense interest, the students were clarified as to what is peer violence, and what behaviors are defined as bullying.

Nesibe Aydın Schools Psychologist Banu Bülbül from Psychologists Association for Social Solidarity gave training to the 9th, 10th and 11th grade students. Psychologist who noted that this type of violence is very common, which can be defined as the physical and verbal and behaviorally harmful movements of a person and a person in the same age group against each other or against a single person, said that the children who are subjected to bullying by their peers would feel like they were lonely, helpless, unhappy, angry, disgusted from their behavior.

Mrs. Bülbül who said that those who suffered from peer bullying might have difficulty in describing the situation, also stated that the child or young who is suffering from bullying may show inward closure, lack of self-confidence, and depressive behaviors. Mrs. Bülbül emphasized that children and young people need to get in contact with each other in order to understand each other.
