ÇANKAYA MUNUCIPALITY TOOK KOREAN WAR VETERAN AND HIS DISABLED WIFE TO ANITKABİR

Çankaya Municipality, took 90-year-old Korean War veteran Cengiz Türkoğul and his 76-year-old wife Meral Türkoğul to Anıtkabir where they could not go for many years due to their bad health conditions.

Türkoğul couple who visited Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk experienced emotional moments in Anıtkabir.

 

Korean War veteran Cengiz Türkoğul and his 76-year-old wife Meral Türkoğul told their family friend Cyprus Veteran Fikret Gökçe that they could not g o to Anıtkabir for many years due to their bad health conditions..

Çankaya Municipality health teams who mobilized upon demand from the veterans took Türkoğul couple from their homes in an ambulance and took them to Anıtkabir.

CITIZENS WELCOMED THE ELDERLY COUPLE

During the visit of Türkoğul couple to Anıtkabir, emotional moments were also experienced. Türkoğul couple, who was welcomed by the citizens, prayed in the respect of Atatürk's mausoleum. The elderly couple tells the excitement and happiness from their eyes and left the Ata's presence among the citizens' love shows.

ÇANKAYA DIDN’T LEAVE THE COUPLE ALONE

 

In 1953, Korean War Veteran Cengiz Türkoğul, who was 26 years old then, said that they were old and they could not visit Anıtkabir for years because of their illness. Cengiz Türkoğul, who also stated that his heart was filled with Atatürk's love, thanked Çankaya Municipality for providing this opportunity to them.

Türkoğul couple, whom Çankaya Municipality did not leave alone for a moment, was left to their homes by staff after the visit to Anıtkabir.
