GIANT FESTIVAL FOR THE SMALL HEROES FROM ÇANKAYA

Another first for children from Çankaya, the municipality of firsts and records ...

Çankaya Municipality will bring together 52 different films to be screened within the "Çocuk Diyarı International Children and Youth Films Festival" with the children of Ankara. The festival will be held from November 9th to November 16th to create a land where children feel free, where they transform their unique hopes, differences, potentials, imagination, and creativity.

Çankaya Municipality which continues to produce services with the principle "We are at first the children's municipality", this time organizing a film festival for the children. The "Çocuk Diyarı International Children and Youth Films Festival" will be held from November 9th to November 16th in cooperation with Sinetopya at Yılmaz Güney Stage. The festival which to be organized will be full of film screenings, contests, panes for children and parents, and various workshops, has the feauture of being the first.

The "Çocuk Diyarı International Children and Youth Films Festival" will start with the opening ceremony where the cinema artist Mert Firat will host and will be concluded with the music feasts of Şubadap Child Orchestra, and Çer Çöp Rhythm Orchestra.  52 films will be screened on the stage during the festival, which will take place under an intensive program. The diversity of short, feature-length films will meet the audience under subheadings such as children's films, youth films, world selections, and German children's films. There will be 33 films to be screened at Yılmaz Güney Stage, 15 films at German Culture Center and 4 films at METU Culture and Congress Center. Workshop activities will include a total of 14 different activities under the headings of "Ecology Friendly Children", "Future Me", "Child Dreams Collage", "Creative Writing and Play", "Natural Rhythm".

Meetings will be held with the panels to be organized under the determined headings with the participation of children, young people, parents, and trainers and psychologists specialized on countries and child education. Within the scope of the program, interviews providing chatting opportunities with international and national directors will also be held, and the place of children's cinema in Turkey and in the world will be discussed. The Festival which will be held at Çankaya Municipality Yılmaz Güney Stage, Goethe Instutite German Cultural Center and METU Culture and Congress Center, will end with the closing night concert of Çankaya Municipality 1000 Children's Choir.
