CONTEMPORARY ARTS CENTER OPENS NEW SEASON WITH “BOŞLUK (VOID)” EXHIBITION

Çankaya Municipality Contemporary Arts Center opened its new art season with "Boşluk" exhibition. Art pieces of 27 artists who inspired by the words of Albert Camus, "full power with the void", will be seen until October 26th.

 

Alper Taşdelen: "We are not just supporting culture and art by hosting the exhibitions. We are in fact supporting all kinds of activities in the name of art and culture in Ankara." 

 

Çankaya Municipality Contemporary Arts Center which gives power to the artistic life of the capital opened its new art season with "Boşluk (Void)" exhibition. Art works of 27 artists who inspired by the words of Albert Camus, "full power with the void" ,  will be hosted in Contemporary Arts Center.

 

Alper Taşdelen who opened the exhibition with Austrian Ambassador Dr. Ulrike Tilly and curator Dilek Karaaziz Şener said that they will continue to support art and artists. Taşdelen: “We continue to give the most intensive support to art and culture in Ankara. We are together at the season opening exhibition of Contemporary Arts Center.   We are not only supporting culture and art by hosting exhibitions. We are actually supporting all kinds of activities in the name of art and culture in Ankara. We renovated Yılmaz Güney Stage and provided concert and conference rooms; we opened Zülfü Livaneli Cultural Center which will serve with its exhibitions, conference rooms and studios to art lovers. The construction of our greatest investment in culture and art, Atatürk Cultural Center, is continuing on the Eskişehir Road. Atatürk Cultural Center, which will serve with its large exhibition areas, large concert areas, theaters, conference halls and studios, will be one of the most beautiful centers of Turkey, not only of Ankara. We will continue to make Atatürk alive with culture and art to those who try to make us forget him. I believe, we will come to light against the darkness of ignorance by embracing Mustafa Kemal's principles and art tightly. "

 

The Austrian Ambassador, Ulrike Tilly, expresses her satisfaction with the invitation of an artist from his own country said that it has been 2 months to begin active duty but she admired Turkey at this time. Ambassador Tilly, who said that art is a great prospect of the societies comes closer with each other, thanked Mayor Taşdelen for his cooperation in every field.

 

 

AN EXHIBITION FULL OF ART FROM 27 ARTISTS

 

The exhibition "Boşluk" by Curator Dilek Karaaziz Şener brings the audience on an interdisciplinary journey.

 

The exhibition which was contributed by artists from Austria and Cyprus as well as artists from Turkey will make art lovers to discover the doors where the voice opens words, the colors open to void, the void opens to spaces, spaces open to bridge between void and full. The exhibition creates an image of standing in a gap of past and present that gives the impression of living geography and a confrontation with the period.

 

The curator of the exhibition is Dilek Karaaziz Şener and the artists are Yeni Anıt, Mert Acar, Aysel Alver, Hüseyin Arıcı, Mert Barlas, Gülşah Bayraktar, Can Bilen, Nurcan Çevik, Fırat Engin, Arzu Eş, Ekin Kılıç Ezer, Bestami Gerekli, Aslı Işıksal, Metin Kalkızoğlu, Nurtane Karagil, Ece Kibaroğlu, Mirko Malle, Emre Okçuer, Hülya Özdemir, Damla Sari, Engi Sarı, Kıvılcım Harika Seydim, Hülya Sözer, Ali Şentürk, Ayşe Topçuoğulları, Burçin Ünal, Beata Zalewska.
