MAYOR TAŞDELEN WELCOMED THE BACKBONE OF THE NATIONAL TEAM AT HIS OFFICE

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen hosted the Çankaya Municipality Visually Impaired Sports Club which will represent National Team in European Visually Impaired Football Championship at his office. Çankaya GESK  which gave 7 football players to the National Team’s 10-person squad, become the backbone of the National Team which set off for the European Visually Impaired Football Championship to be held in Germany between August 17-27.

 

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen welcomed the players of the Çankaya GESK which was invited to the National Team for European Visually Impaired Football Championship. The coach of the National Team, Hasan Yıldırım, gave information to Mayor Taşdelen before the championship.

 

Taşdelen stated that the task of the municipalities is to promote mass sports, to support amateur clubs and sports facilities for disabled people and added they are proud of giving 7 athletes for the National Team this year.

 

He said he is expecting Emrah to become the top scorer in Europe and talked “As a team, you are making us proud and giving us a happiness to represent Turkey in national team. Çankaya Municipality is proud to share it, I wish you a continued success.”

 

WE ARE ASSERTIVE ABOUT 2018 WORLD CUP AS 2020 OLYMPICS

Hasan Yıldırım, coach, stated that there are challenging teams like Spain and Russia in the group also says the success in the group will open the doors for 2018 World Cup. He added that Çankaya Municipality provided wide opportunities for the visually impaired to perform sports and said “We owe our success to Çankaya Municipality.”

 

ÇANKAYA KEEP THE FIRST SUCCESS ALIVE IN SPORTS IN THE HISTORY

 

Çankaya Municipality Visually Impaired Sports Club President Yusuf Sayyiden said that they will wear the first stars as champion in 5 consecutive years and added the team has been successful since the day it was founded.

 

Besides the European and World Championships, Sayyiden reminded that they gave a lot of players to visually impaired national teams in the Olympics said “this year we make up 70 percent of the National Team and we have learned that this is a record.” Sayyiden thanked Mayor Taşdelen for the support provided by Çankaya Municipality.

 

THEY ARE OUR NATIONAL PRIDE

 

Çankaya GESK which keeps its top position since the establishment of the Visually Impaired B1 League, increases the number of players given to the National Team every year. National team which invited 6 players from Çankaya GESK last year, invited 7 players this year.  

Çankaya GESK players named as follow: Turkish National Team and Çankaya GESK Coach Hasan Yıldırım, goalkeepers Reşat Aykut Akyön and Doruk Gökmen Erkmen, footballers Emrah Öcal, Celal Çoban, Ercan Bayraktar, İbrahim Üzüm and Kahraman Gurbetoğlu.
