Çankaya Municipality continues to create a market for women’s handcraft products. Çankaya Municipality which provides to set up stands at shopping centers now provided the opportunity to meet handcraft products at the market place.

Çankaya Municipality which has “Purple Flag” due to women’s equal participation to social life and employment continues to create a market for women’s handcraft products.  Çankaya Municipality which first brought together with women and buyer in the shopping malls has now opened stands in the market places.

The first marketplace was Ümitköy marketplace in which women sold hats, knitted dolls and many other products. The stands which Deputy Mayor of Çankaya Municipality, Gülsün Bor Güner, visited and supported also opened in Ayrancı and Sıhhiye marketplaces.

“OUR LABOR IS RESPECTED”

Women who offer their products to buyers said that they are very happy that their labor is respected and stated “the one we had produced stayed at home so far, but here people are seeing, enjoying and buying. It is a great pleasure.”

INCOME GOES TO WOMEN’S SHELTER

The stand which includes Jewelry, baby clothes, hats and other items produced by women in Çankaya Municipality Women’s Shelter was attracted great attention. The income will be used to cover the needs of women in the shelter.

“WE SUPPORT PRODUCTION”

Alper Taşdelen emphasized that women’s labor should be made visible and financially compensated and he said “We are also supporting the transportation of the products to the buyers as well as women be in the production.”
