ÇANKAYA’S SURVIVORS ALONE WITH NATURE

 Children from Çankaya were alone with the nature 3 days in the Summer Environment Camp.

Children met with nature with three-days-longed camps in Eğriova Natural Park in Beypazarı. Children had joyful activities and learned the importance of teamwork and cooperation.

 Çankaya Municipality’s project for children who especially lived in disadvantaged areas, Summer Environment Camp carried out in Eğriova Natural Park in Beypazarı. 180 children aged between 9 and 12 had the camp full of joy and instructive activities.

 Alongside in this three-day longed camp, children had physical activities that improve their durability such as tracking, climbing, fishing, dart, canoe trip and attends activities that  improves social and scientific ways with the assistance of professional instructors and nature guides. For example, in the second day of the camp, children who took lessons about drama and natural education made models and paintings. With collecting wastes in camping areas and walking path, while children protect the nature, they also make models and paintings with their creativities.

 In the professionally designed camping area, children stayed in tents that contain double-decker beds. Meals are made by a group of chefs in open country tents. Every need such as transportation are provided by Çankaya Municipality. Scouts, drama lecturers and medical team assists the children during camping.

 Children who were gathering around the camp fire and had conversation about team work and respect to nature with their team leaders say that they enjoyed from this three-day-longed camp. Children states that with sport activities and nature they were motivated. They convey their thanks to Mayor of Çankaya Municipality, Alper Taşdelen.

 TAŞDELEN: “THERE WON’T BE A CHILD WE CANNOT REACH”

 

 Mayor of Çankaya Municipality Alper Taşdelen gave information about Summer Environment Camp and stated that this year’s camp was done by setting purpose of children who are living in disadvantaged regions. Along with the children who are in Çankaya House’s and study centers in Bademlidere, Cebeci, Karapınar and Yüzüncüyıl, and children who live in these regions spotted by municipality authorities and were invited to this camp. Taşdelen says that “Çankaya is the wealthiest district of the capital. However, we have also some disadvantaged regions where need helps. With the understanding of new generation municipalism, we adopt to maintain equal and good quality to everyone. That’s why we are going to reach every child even if the ones lived in disadvantaged regions in Çankaya and are helping them to live good experiences what they deserve”.
