Çankaya Municipality continues to be a pioneering example of activities that contributes to nature and environment. First seeds for the Energy Forest were spread.

The first step has been taken in Çankaya for the “Energy Forest” which was talked about a lot in the world and has drawn attention as a rising value. The seeds of the Aylantus tree, which grows rapidly thus creates energy and generates woods in a short time, have been spread.

CARBON FOOTPRINT WILL REDUCE

Çankaya Municipality planted seeds of Aylantus Tree to the “Greening and Ecological Restoration Area” because of its suitability to the city life. The Energy Forest Project, which is expected to contribute to the heat balance of nature, will reduce the carbon footprint of Çankaya with the oxygen that will be produced.

Aylantus is a significant tree for the Energy Forest which is widely used by the northern European states and is being used in other European countries day by day.

The Aylantus trees have the feature of growing in a short period of 2 or 3 years. It can develop after being cut and can reproduce with the help of the wind.

IT INCREASES THE GREEN AREA AND RESTRAINS EROSION

The pioneering Project which is brought into action by cooperation of the Çankaya Municipality and “En Yeşil Ankara Association” is still not known in our country. In this new project, the aim is to prevent landslides that can occur on steep slopes and the erosion in addition to the increasing of green area with the Aylantus trees that will be controlled regularly.
