The first ceremony for Doğan Taşdelen was held at Çankaya Municipality Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Center and Cemevi. After the funeral ceremony held in Cemevi, where his family, Çankaya Municipality employees, all those who lover him and many parties attended, the corpse of Doğan Taşdelen was brought to Çankaya Municipality, where he served for years.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Mayorship Building, Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen said that: “I have lost not only my father, but the architect of Çankaya, a person whose heart was filled with human love, my leader, my light, my polar star. He was not only my father. He was the father of all of us in Çankaya, in our municipality.”

In his speech, which turned into a flood of emotions, Mayor Taşdelen, who promised that he will work even harden for Çankaya and Turkey on the path that his father Doğan Taşdelen drew for himself with perseverance, said the followings:

“My father Doğan Taşdelen’s biggest work was Çankaya Municipality. Here he gave the best examples of worker-friendly, social-democratic municipalism. Çankaya became the compass of social democratic municipalism. I promise in front of my entire municipal family, in front of my father, that I will always protect this work of my father, this municipality, and that I will always work harder for Çankaya. I know that if we want to walk his way, we will keep his ideals alive. He was a loving heart. To love Doğan Taşdelen is to work, to be honest. To love Doğan Taşdelen means to support the people, freedom and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. We will all claim these ideals. I am very lucky to be the son of Doğan Taşdelen. You are very lucky that you had such a father as a colleague, being companion of such a mayor. We lost a very nice person. We lost who has never had a hate in his heart and but had human love in his heart. I lost not only my father but a very nice person. He was someone who embraced everyone, embraced everyone from dungeons and tortures. Despite all the obstacles in the Sivas massacre, he was someone who ran for all funerals. When DISK opened after September 12, he was someone working day and night to reorganize workers. He always stood by the worker, the employees worked with him, and became their father. Yes, it is a hard day today ... As in Can Yücel's poem, “I loved my father most in this life”. It was a mountain for me. He was a much hearted person. Nothing is as difficult as fitting his father into the grave, which man can not fit on the ground and see him as a mountain... I promise once again in your presence, my leader, my light, my polar star, we will continue on your footsteps. We will take care of all your wills. Dear father, foremost your son, me, Alper and hundreds, thousands of people who came together here, will claim your greatest work, Çankaya. We will work harder, produce more and further glorify this municipality. We offer our condolences.”
