The amount of aid including cash support provided by Çankaya Social Aid Card, which Çankaya Municipality distributes to low-income citizens, increased by 50 percent. Çankaya Municipal Council, which took a break from its meetings due to the pandemic, increased the amount of cash aid from 400 TL to 600 TL in July.

The amount of aid provided by Çankaya Social Aid Card, one of the social projects of Çankaya Municipality that touched the human, increased. Çankaya Municipal Council, which held the July session after the postponement of the April, May and June meetings within the scope of the measures taken by the Ministry of the Interior, increased the amount of cash aid of Social Aid Card  from 400 TL to 600 TL. 898 families are currently benefiting from Social Aid Card, which was given to 154 more people in May. Social Aid Card's 7th Term applications will continue until 17 July.

Stating that distributing Çankaya Social Aid Card practice is one of the best examples of social municipalism, Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen stated that they also prioritize Social Aid Card holders in social and economic assistance during the pandemic process. Emphasizing that they will continue to provide cash support to those in need with the Social Aid Card application, Alper Taşdelen continued as follows:

“Çankaya Municipality is the municipality of the people; it will always be on the side of the people in need. We waste the resources of the municipality for our people. As Çankaya Municipality, it is our people that we serve only. In the past 6 years, we have implemented the best examples of social municipalism. Municipalism is to cure the troubles, and we are trying to cure the troubles with this Social Aid Card. I would like to thank our councilors for the unanimous decision in our City Council.”

APPLICATIONS TO THE SOCIAL AID CARD CONTINUE

Nearly 1,300 households have benefited from the Social Aid Card practice of Çankaya Municipality, which has implemented many examples of social democratic municipalism. Social Card holders, whose economic conditions have changed and whose residence has ended in Çankaya district, cannot benefit from this service.

In the practice where the applications are made directly to Çankaya Municipality, the social examination of the applicants is done by the municipal social workers. Çankaya Municipality, which conducts social examination through the Central Population Management System (MERNİS) and home visits, gives the card that provides cash support to the woman in the household with the necessary conditions. Those who have Çankaya Social Aid Card have the opportunity to shop from anywhere they want.

For those who want to own Çankaya Social Aid Card; it is required to reside within the borders of Çankaya District of Ankara, to be in need of financial support and the per capita income in the family should not exceed one third of the minimum wage, and there should be no real estate record belonging to the family.
