TABLET SUPPORT FOR ENTREPRENEUR WOMEN

In the scope of the Entrepreneurial Women Project (GIKA) carried out by Rotary District 2430 and with the support of Çankaya Municipality and Başkent University, tablets that will enable women who have completed their education to sell their hand-made products through the electronic commerce website were distributed to entrepreneur women.

Women who stepped into entrepreneurship within the scope of the Entrepreneurial Women Project (GIKA), gathered at the ”Tablet Distribution Ceremony” held at the Çankaya Municipality Yılmaz Güney Stage. Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Levent Gök, CHP Ankara Deputy Gamze Taşcıer, Çankaya Deputy Mayor Gülsün Bor Güner, Başkent University Rector. Dr. Ali Haberal and International Rotary District 2430 Governor Hakan Karaalioğlu attended the ceremony.

In the ceremony Canan Yenel, Ankara Coordinator of Entrepreneurial Women Project, gave the opening speech. Later, Hakan Karaalioğlu thanked the organizations and participants who contributed by stating that they set off with the motto “Hand in Hand Economic Freedom” in order to join the female labor force to the economy.

Çankaya Deputy Mayor Gülsün Bor Güner said, ”As Çankaya Municipality, we are making important efforts to strengthen women's place in society, to make women's labor visible and to place an egalitarian perspective in society. The Women Entrepreneur Project (GIKA) is a good example of cooperation among municipalities, universities and NGOs. I wish success to all our women participating in the project and express my gratitude to the supporters.”

“Without women, it is impossible for a country to achieve success and advance its level. Our university will continue to cooperate with non-governmental organizations and public institutions in such projects from now on.” Rector of Başkent University Dr. Ali Haberal said.

Following the speeches, tablets were distributed to women who participated in the GIKA-Entrepreneur Women Project, which was carried out by the Rotary District 2430 with the support of Çankaya Municipality and Başkent University, aimed to provide a nationwide market for selling women's handcrafted products through the electronic commerce website and thus to increase their participation in the labor force.
