In 2019, Çankaya Municipality continued to support women who are exposed to or at risk of being subjected to violence.

Providing support to women on social, psychological legal rights, Çankaya Municipality Women's Counseling Center provided consultancy services to 497 women by telephone or face-to-face during the year, and allowed 26 women to settle in the shelter.

Çankaya Municipality Women's Counseling Center and Shelter continued to provide women a safe roof in 2019. Providing social, psychological and legal support to women who are exposed to violence or at risk of being subjected to violence, the Municipality provided consultancy services to 497 women during the year by telephone or face-to-face meetings. The municipality provided shelter for 26 women, as well as 23 children who had to leave home with their mothers.

FULL SUPPORT TO CHILDREN

In addition to meeting all the needs of women who are victims of municipal violence, Çankaya Municipality also covers their children's needs in both education and health as long as they stay in the shelter, which contributes to the school and preschool education of children staying with their mothers.

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who stated that the women who were subjected to violence took on the Çankaya roof, said that: “I wish that there would be no need for shelters but we will be with them as long as women need it. We respect women's right to life and social rights, and pay attention to produce our services by giving priority to women.
