THE PEOPLE OF ANKARA MET WITH THE ANKARA THEATRE FESTIVAL FOR THE 24TH TIME

International Ankara Theater Festival, which has brought together the people of Ankara since 24 years, started with the award night. Yıldız Kenter, who recently passed away, was awarded the Honorary Award this year.

Supported by Çankaya Municipality, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and Yenimahalle Municipality. International Ankara Theater Festival started with the night held in Nazım Hikmet Cultural Center. This year's awards were presented to the winners at the opening night of the festival.

HONOR AWARD TO YILDIZ KENTER

The festival organized by Social Research Cultural and Art Foundation (TAKSAV) started with the speech of the Head of Foundation Prof. Dr. Selçuk Candansayar. Following the speech of Mr. Candansayar, who stated that they experience the happiness of meeting with the people of Ankara for the 24th time, the awards of this year were found their owners. The 24th International Ankara Theater Festival Honorary Award was given to Yıldız Kenter, the master artist who recently passed away.

“OUR DOORS ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO ART”

The 2019 Labor Award was given to artist Mehmet Nurkut İlhan. Deputy Mayor of Çankaya Gülsün Bor Güner presented the award to Mr. İlhan. Stating that they are happy to support and host the festival, Mrs. Güner said that: “As Çankaya Municipality, we always support art and artists. Because, we know that art is a sign of civilization and modernity, a symbol of peace and freedom. We always keep the doors of our culture and art centers open to our artists.”

THE FESTIVAL WILL CONTINUE UNTIL 2 DECEMBER

The 24th International Ankara Theater Festival, which enriches the cultural and artistic life of the capital and brings together valuable art lovers with art lovers from Ankara, will continue until 2 December. Within the scope of the festival, 28 theater plays such as “Çehov’dan Seçmeler, Göç’erken, Krem Karamel, Guguk Kuşu, Kadın, Fosforlu Cevriye” will meet with the people of Ankara. Çankaya Municipality Contemporary Arts Center, Nazım Hikmet Cultural and Art Center and Yılmaz Güney Stage will host 10 theatre plays within the scope of the festival.
