THE MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION BETWEEN ÇANKAYA AND FRANKFURT ON BUILDING RESILIENT CITIES THROUGH EMPOWERING WOMEN

Çankaya Municipality signed a memorandum of cooperation with Frankfurt Municipality, which were matched within the scope of the for “Building Resilient Cities Through Empowering Women Project”, to which they were entitled to receive grants from the EU. The memorandum involves the realization of joint projects by sharing mutual knowledge and experience on social projects, women's work, environment, climate and energy.

Çankaya Municipality signed a memorandum of cooperation with Frankfurt am Main Municipality, which were matched within the scope of the for “Building Resilient Cities Through Empowering Women Project”. Çankaya Deputy Mayor Gülsün Bor Güner and Frankfurt Municipality Deputy Mayor Rosemarie Heilig signed the agreement text of the meeting with the participation of Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen. Mrs. Heilig After the signatures, Mrs. Heilig said that: "In Turkey, particularly in support of women in Çankaya struggle for equality, environmental education, active climate protection and we want to share our experiences on the protection of resources. During our visit to Çankaya, we saw great projects for women. We were amazed to see what women did in a short time. I would like to thank everyone who worked in local projects and transferred their knowledge to women”.

Stating that the steps to be taken with the Frankfurt Municipality will bring a new perspective to the fight against climate change and that it is important to share in the creation of resistant cities by empowering women, Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen emphasized that the cooperation will contribute to the projects they will implement in Çankaya and thanked the Frankfurt Municipality. Mayor Taşdelen and his delegation also visited the waste disposal and recycling center near Palmengarten.

Following the signing ceremony, Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen met with Frankfurt Mayor Peter Feldmann and exchanged views. Mr. Taşdelen also attended the Frankfurt City Council meeting as guest of honor.
