Çankaya Municipality continues to break new ground. Primary school students in Çankaya will take their physical education lessons in the swimming pools of Çankaya Municipality. Within the framework of the protocol covering elementary school 4th grade students, the students will be taken from their schools with the service vehicles of Çankaya Municipality and will learn to swim with the help of expert trainers during physical education lessons.

Çankaya Municipality continues to break new ground with its projects and permanent works it offers. With the protocol signed between Çankaya Municipality, Çankaya District Governorate and Çankaya District National Education Directorate, in the new period, primary school students in Çankaya will take physical education lessons in Çankaya Municipality swimming pools. Within the framework of the protocol covering the 4th grade students, students will be taken from their schools with the service vehicles of Çankaya Municipality and will learn to swim with expert instructors during physical education lesson hours.

With the project to be started in November, in the first stage, students from 4 primary schools around the Erdal İnönü Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool, located in Birlik Neighbourhood, will learn to swim in physical education lessons for 4 months and enjoy the pool. Hundreds of students from each school will benefit from the pool during the class hours, while more than a thousand students will be swimming in physical education lessons under this project at the Çankaya Municipality TOBB Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool, which will be opened next year.

EVERYTHING IS FOR THE EDUCATION OF OUR CHILDREN

Emphasizing that Çankaya Municipality is the municipality that provides the most support and service to education among local governments, Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen stated that with this project they are implementing with the Ministry of National Education in Çankaya for childeren who do not know swimming, children will also have the opportunity to enjoy pools summer and winter. Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who also stated that they left behind 5 years with the biggest investment program in the history of Çankaya Municipality, underlined that 2 more pools are also take place among their new term projects. Mr. Taşdelen said that: “With the pool which is under construction in Çiğdem Neighbourhood and with the Olympic pool to be put in service in Dikmen Karapınar Neighborhood, we will bring Çankaya a total of 3 pools. It is very important for both body and mind health for our children to learn to swim at an early age. With this project, we will take our children from their schools and let them take their lessons in our swimming pools and we will deliver them to their schools after swimming lessons. There will be no children who cannot swim in Çankaya with this work, which is a first in Turkey”.

Mr. Taşdelen, who stated that they attach importance to building complex sports facilities in addition to the sports fields they built in parks for healthy living, also underlined that every foot of Çankaya’s land is returned to serve as Çankaya people”.
