THE “CLIMATE FRIENDLY WOMEN OF ÇANKAYA” VISITED FRANKFUTRT

Çankaya Municipality, which carries out joint work with Germany’s Frankfurt Municipality within the scope of the Town Twinning Grant Program between Turkey and the EU, made its second visit to Frankurt as part of the "Building Resilient City through Empowering Women Project".

In cooperation with the city of Frankfurt and as part of the "Building Resilient City through Empowering Women Project", which started in February 2019 in partnership with Çankaya Municipality Women's Mukhtars Association and Nature Conservation Center, Çankaya Municipality visited Frankfurt Municipality. The female employees from the relevant units of Çankaya Municipality participated the visit which was held to observe climate-friendly practices and to sustaina climate-oriented cooperation.

Within the scope of the "Building Resilient City through Empowering Women" project, the female staff, who are in duty in Çankaya houses and day care homes that working in various units of the municipality, who will train core working groups in their respective fields to ensure accessibility of the target audience, observed the practices on site. The Delegation of the Çankaya Municipality, which held meetings with project partners in order to ensure the sustainability of the project activities, exchanged information on the adaptation of “Climate Friendly Women” training activities and good practices in Frankfurt to Çankaya.

The project, which is carried out by female personnel working on climate and women issues under the coordination of the Directorate of Foreign Affairs of Çankaya Municipality, aims to raise awareness for a gender-sensitive climate action and to enhance the capacity of participants to incorporate gender equality into climate policies and projects.
