Çankaya Municipality is preparing for October full of culture and art. Exhibitions, conferences, two film festivals and concerts will be held in October.

Çankaya Municipality, which enriches the cultural and artistic life of the capital and brings together valuable events with art lovers, is preparing for October full of culture and art. October, which will include exhibitions, conferences, two film festivals and concerts, will bring art lovers of the capital together at the culture and art centers of Çankaya.

October in Çankaya begins with a large series of exhibitions and conferences to be held at the Contemporary Arts Center.

The photography exhibition starts on October 1st that commemorating Professor Dr. Albert Eckstein, founder of the Numune Hospital, who made valuable contributions to the Young Republic’s progress in the field of medicine, who got rid of the Nazi yoke and accepted Mustafa Kemal’s republic as his home. The activities to be organized jointly by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Çankaya Municipality will continue until October 18th. "Prof. Dr. Albert Eckstein's Life and Anatolian Impressions Conference" will be held on October 8th at 13.30 at Yaşar Kemal Conference Hall of Contemporary Arts Center. In the conference, where the revolution of the Republic in the field of child health and preventive medicine will be discussed in many ways, Mr. Eckstein's years spent in Anatolia will also be explained as part of his public health studies.

KOREAN MUSIC IN ÇANKAYA

Nazım Hikmet Culture and Art Center is preparing to host the Korean National Days on October 3rd. The Korean “Fusion” Music Concert will be held at the Piraye Hall of Nazım Hikmet Cultural and Art Center, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

YAPI KREDI CELEBRATING ITS 75TH ANNIVERSARY

In October, Contemporary Arts Center will host one of the biggest exhibitions in the capital. The Ankara leg of the giant series of exhibitions organized by Yapı Kredi on its 75th anniversary will meet art lovers at the Andrey Gennadiyeviç Karlov and Füreya Koral Halls of the Contemporary Arts Center. The Ser Colors from Yapı Kredi Collection Ser exhibition, which will be held between 4 October and 14 November, will carry the works of master artists who made valuable contributions to the development of fine arts from Yapı Kredi's archive to Çankaya.

ANKARA'S BEING CAPITAL WILL BE CELEBRATED WITH CONCERTS

Çankaya Municipality will celebrate the anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's declaration of Ankara as the capital city 96 years ago. Pop music singer Funda Arar will meet her fans in Ankara at the concert area located on the back of Arcadium Shopping Center in Çayyolu neighbourhood at 19.00 on Sunday, October 13th.

TWO FILM FESTIVALS

Çankaya will also host two major film festivals in October. The “Argentinean Film Festival”, which will be held at the Yılmaz Güney Stage between October 15-18, will bring together six films from the Argentine National Cinema to the cinema lovers of the capital.

The “7th Barrier-Free Film Festival” will be waiting for the Çankaya people at the Contemporary Arts Center between October 16-20.  In the festival, which will be held coordinately in Istanbul, Eskisehir and Ankara, 47 films selected from the best example of Turkish and world cinema, will meet art lovers in a way that is accessible to visually and hearing impaired film lovers. In the event program of the Festival which will take place for the 7th time will include; interviews with film teams, Animation Workshop for children aged 9-12, Autism Friendly Screening for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, Virtual Reality Experience and various panels to be held with representatives of non-governmental organizations.

DA VINCI WILL BE COMMEMORATED IN ÇANKAYA

Painter, sculptor, scientist, great genius Leonardo da Vinci will be commemorated in Çankaya with music on the 500th anniversary of his death. In the free concert to be held at the Contemporary Arts Center on October 21st, master artists David Heyes, Sarah Poole and Dritan Gani will perform classical music pieces written for Da Vinci all over the world in Çankaya.
