YILMAZ GÜNEY STAGE CLOSED THE SEASON WITH A RECORD

Yılmaz Güney Stage, which was demolished and rebuilt by Çankaya Municipality, brought 70 theaters to the stage during the 2019 art season and brought together 64 thousand Ankara people with art. The stage hosted 143 different events such as concerts and film screenings, as well as theater plays followed by the Ankara people.

Yılmaz Güney Stage, which was renewed by Çankaya Municipality in 2016 and put into service for the people of Ankara, spent this season with full of culture and art activities. Çankaya Municipality Yılmaz Güney Stage brought 70 theaters to the stage in 2019 season and brought together 64 thousand Ankara people with art.

Giving priority to professional and amateur theater groups, Yılmaz Güney Stage also hosted 213 events including 80 concerts, 9 conferences, 5 film screenings, 1 interview, 25 year-end show and 23 training meetings. Yılmaz Güney Stage, which has opened its doors to not only Çankayalı people but to all the art lovers of Ankara, has been serving the people of Ankara for 26 years.

ÇANKAYA IS THE HEART OF ART IN THE CAPITAL

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who stated that they demolished and rebuilt the stage bearing the name of Yılmaz Güney, one of the unforgettable names in the history of cinema, and reopened it in 2016, said that: “We continue to increase the number of culture and art centers in Çankaya, the heart of culture and art in Ankara. In addition to our Yılmaz Güney Stage, we bring our people together with many activities, art and artists, foremost at our Contemporary Arts Center, Zülfü Livaneli Cultural Center, Mülkiye Cultural Center and Nazım Hikmet Cultural and Art Center that we opened in May. The Atatürk Cultural Center, which we continue to build on the Eskişehir Road, will be a giant cultural center worthy of our capital and our Çankaya. Çankaya will continue to be the center of art in Ankara”.
