CHP Çankaya District Chairman Fahri Yıldırım and the families who lost their relatives in the massacre and many citizens attended the event hosted by Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen. Those who attended the commemoration event had emotional moments because Çankaya Municipality 2 July Memorial Park has a special importance because it is the place where those who lost their lives in the massacre departed to Sivas.

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who attended the commemoration, said that: “The joys increase as they are shared, and the pain decreases as they are shared. However, there are some sufferings, not healing even how much they are shared. The sorrow of the Sivas Massacre will not have soothed. 33 lives were burned in Sivas but the most important condition of surrender to this pain is to never forget our 33 people and keep them living in our memories. We will never be defeated. Those who take their power from Hacı Bektash, Pir Sultan, Nazım and the Deniz are never defeated.

Very young people gone to the gallows by saying “Long live fully independent Turkey” in this country, and since we have adopted this motto, everyone should know that Mustafa Kemalists are never defeated. I saw that staid posture in the families of those who lost their lives in the massacre. I kiss their hands once again. We've always stood up, and we're gonna stand up. Let everyone know that the light of Sivas will not go out. I sincerely believe that light can be seen after these difficult days. Everything will be very beautiful, humanity will win. ”

Hundreds of citizens who filled the Memorial Park accompanied the folk songs of the Pir Sultan Abdal Culture Association Ankara Branch artists for those who lost their lives in the massacre.
