TBMM COMMISSION VISITED AND PRAISED ÇANKAYA’S STRAY ANIMAL SHELTER

The TBMM Parliamentary Research Commission Established to Identify the Measures to be Taken to Protect Animals' Rights and Prevent Torture and Ill Treatment of Animals visited Çankaya Municipality’s Unattended Stray Animals Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Chairman of the Commission Mustafa Yel appreciated the efforts of Çankaya Municipality for stray animals and stated that the shelter should be an example for other municipalities. The commission members were accompanied by Çankaya Municipal Council Member Şehnaz Sibel and Çankaya Deputy Mayors Nafiz Kaya and Lütfü Şevran.

The visitors were informed about the wire fences, mother-offspring department, operating room and intensive care unit in the presence of shelter workers by examining these places. Commissioners would also be informed in detail about the way the shelter working.

THE UNITS WERE EXAMINED

During the visit that prepared before the report, the Commission Chairman Mustafa Yel expressed his thoughts as follows: "I personally liked the shelter belongs to Çankaya Municipality. The scenery we saw was pleasant. The qualification of the personnel, the suitability of the shelter for the dogs, the treatment of the dogs having health problems and all kinds of procedures made using the advantages of our age are examples of other shelters.

THE COMMISION MET WITH PEBBLES

Sude Naz, who came to the shelter to adopt a puppy during the visit of the Commission, had a pleasant time to the Commission with her dog, which she named as Pebble. The members also appreciated Sude Naz for her sense of responsibility and love for animals and expressed their wish that she would keep this feeling for lifelong and convey it to those around them.
