ÇANKAYA’S “STRONG WOMEN RESISTANT CITIES” VISIT TO FRANKFURT

Çankaya Municipality, which is entitled to receive a grant in the “Town Twinning Grant Program between Turkey and the EU”, visited its project partner Frankfurt am Main Municipality within the “Building Resilient City Through Empowering Women” project.

Çankaya Municipality, which is entitled to receive a grant in the “Town Twinning Grant Program between Turkey and the EU”, visited its project partner Frankfurt am Main municipality within the “Building Resilient City Through Empowering Women” project.

The study visit was accompanied by directors and experts from the relevant directorates of Çankaya Municipality, representatives of the Women Mukhtars Association and environmental experts from the Nature Conservation Center.

Aiming the sustainability of the project activities with the observations and evaluations made for cooperation and applicability studies, the representatives of Çankaya Municipality held meetings with Mrs. Rosemarie Heilig, Head of the Department of Environment and Women's Office, Frankfurt am Main Municipality.

Delegation of Çankaya Municipality, which examined on-site visits focused on climate studies such as The Environmental Education Project in Frankfurt, Frankfurt Waste Disposal Service and Frankfurt Energy Point, supported by the Department of Environment and Women's Office of Frankfurt am Main Municipality, started to work for forming a participatory climate policy in cooperation with the project partners, experts and relevant non-governmental organizations.

Following the study visit, it is aimed to achieve a healthier and more livable Çankaya with gender-sensitive environmental policies by conducting trainings and workshops in Çankaya Houses and Çankaya Kindergartens in line with the “Climate Friendly Women” and the successful practices in Frankfurt.
