TWO NEW ACTIVITY CENTERS OPENED IN ÇANKAYA

Çankaya Municipality once again demonstrated the importance of culture and arts with two eyeful activity centers opened in October. Çankaya Municipality opened Hoy-Tur Folk Dances Community Dance Center, which became a brand in folk dances with 9 Turkey and 5 world championship and Children's Day Music Atelier for 1000 Children Choir, which makes its voice heard all over Turkey on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day every year.

 

Çankaya Municipality opened two activity centers for its two brands in dance and music of which reputations reach out to Turkey and the whole world. It opened Hoy-Tur Folk Dances Community Dance Center, which became a brand in folk dances with 9 Turkey and 5 world championship and Children's Day Music Atelier for 1000 Children Choir, which makes its voice heard all over Turkey on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day every year. The Dance Center in Sıhhiye consists of 2 study halls, a dressing room, a costume room and a resting area. Nearly 200 trainees are trained in folk dance activities consisting of stars, young people and adults groups in the Dance Center. Participation to Hoy-Tur is done by pre-qualification. Master instructors work in the center who trains the dancers of the future.

 

MINI CONSERVATORY

 

Çankaya Municipality opened a new service center for 1000 Children Choir, a community of 1000 children gathering together and singing to whole country on April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day as well. The building in Yıldızevler District, which was previously used as a day care center, was almost rebuilt. The center has been opened as Music Atelier, turning into a mini conservatory, with insulated walls and renewed workspaces.

 

The atelier will host many artistic trainings including 1000 Children Choir. In addition to classical guitar, violin, flute, piano, binding, singing/solfege, drum, percussion instruments, musical works with talented and enthusiastic young children will be held in the Children's Choir and Youth Choir. For children from the age of 8, and for young people aged 17 and over, the workshop will provide a performance stage, classrooms for individual and group work, a hall dedicated to orchestral work, and an environment in which choirs can work comfortably and a rhythm hall for drums and percussion studies.

 

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen, who opened the two centers, said "As Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said ‘life veins of artless societies break off’. Arts always bring free thought and feeds democracy and the Republic. The basis of our republic is the culture; we will continue our investments in this field.”
