MORE THAN 27 THOUSAND BOOKS WERE SENT TO ALL AROUND TURKEY

Çankaya Municipality continues to send books to all around the country. The municipality distributed nearly 7,000 books with the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. Çankaya Municipality sent to 27 thousand books from Kars to Edirne since the beginning of the year.

  

Çankaya Municipality, which gives priority to education among its services, carries out many activities from school renovation to book and stationery distribution, library service to literacy courses. Çankaya Municipality which collects the books donated by the citizens and sends it to the village schools, prisons and libraries, mobilizes all the opportunities when it is education. The Municipality which does answer all the demands reaching to Çankaya Municipality through different ways of communication such as social media, mail, telephone and letter, sends the books that are separated according to their types to the places that demand.

 

ENCOURAGES READING WITH MORE BOOKS

 

Çankaya Mayor Alper Taşdelen stated that the habit of reading is a necessity and said “Reading books; it is a habit that has many benefits, such as acquiring knowledge, reducing stress, improving memory, improving the vocabulary, and providing analytical thinking skills. In order to enable our children to get the habit of reading at an early age, we pay attention to printing and distribution of the Çankaya Children's Books series and also distribution the books that will appeal to our people from all age groups. So far, we have distributed 400 thousand books.”

 

Mr. Taşdelen stated that they live happiness of distributing more that 27 thousand books to various cities, towns and villages since the beginning of 2018. He also said they added stationery sets to the books they sent especially to village schools
