FAIRY TALE AND PLAY ROOMS

Registrations for Fairy Tale and Playrooms for children aged 3-6 begin in the first week of October.

No materials or fees are charged from the families for the registration and events.

Each student benefits from the fairy tale and game room events for throughout the year.

Each group is consist of 10 children, and new groups are opened on demand.

Every child comes to the fairy tale and play room with their own age group one day in a week.

The event is prepared and implemented by the instructors of the Child Development and Education in accordance with the plan and the program.

The families can leave their children to the Çankaya Houses Fairy Tale and Play Room between 09.30 and 11.30 in the weekdays and between 13.30 and 15.30 in the afternoon.

WHAT ARE FAIRY TALE AND PLAY ROOMS FOR?

The Directore of Cultural And Social Affairs of Çankaya Municipality opened Fairy Tale and Play Rooms in 3 Çankaya Houses for children, located in different neighborhoods of Çankaya that which have suitable physical space, in order to meet the demands of the children of Çankaya and their families;

To provide the participation of the children aged 3 to 6 years in the pre-school education programs through the fairy tale and play rooms events for free, for whose families cannot afford to have their children go to kindergartens due to financial difficulties and other various reasons, thus the children who cannot spend time with their peers,

To provide a safe place for mothers to leave their children, those who attend various courses during the year at Çankaya Houses,

To ensure that children gain many social, emotional, physical and mental skills through pre-school education,

To reveal the creative aspects, interests and desires of the children,

To ensure that children spend more efficient time with their peers and their instructors, especially during the time when housewives handle their works like shopping, paying bills, etc., and to create time for the women of Çankaya to move,

To help resolving of the problems of the children that parents have indicated or are observed in the classroom when needed, and to guide the family on their children’s interests and abilities.

THE CONTENT OF FAIRY TALE AND PLAY ROOMS

Activities to develop and support the child's cognitive, psycho-motor development, social-sensual development, language development, self-care skills and interests are included.

Activities including certain days and weeks, reading and drama are held. Children's imagination is developing through the animation, imitation and imaginary games.

Activities such as throwing, jumping, climbing are held to improve the child's rough motor skills.

Painting with various paints, play dough, finger painting, tearing, cutting and gluing works with papers, and three-dimensional studies are carried out every day in accordance with the subject, and sometimes with free activities. Thus, children have the opportunity to recognize and feel by touching the material and have fun while learning, seeing their own created textures and three-dimensional works with cutting, gluing, painting, using pencil, finger painting and play dough.

Group works and three-dimensional project studies from various materials are carried out, thus it is ensured that the children can learn to socialize, wait in line, comply with rules, talk, play games, communicate well with their peers, protect themselves and respect others.

It is ensured that the children develop math and science skills through the various activities such as; color, number, shape, large-small, long-short, etc. various concept toys, matching objects, classifying, measuring, observing, and generating ideas.

The children meet with the professions and different roles in society while playing through the occupation and marriage game corners created within the class.

The children are given responsibilities with various tasks and assignments when needed, and the necessary support is provided to the families in raising self-confident, sensitive, creative, inquiring, questioning, and productive individuals.

The families are interviewed for the children's interests and problems when it is necessary.

Class activities are also supported by social activities, students also come together outside the classroom with the Anıtkabir tour, theater and puppet shows, and the doctor's support for the dental health.
